I am putting together a battery pack. Where is a good place to get the copper to connect the cells. Is there a % that it needs to be? Also where can I get the connectors to connect to the charger?

Thanks

What type of cells do you intend on using? Connecting plates for headway cells are easily found on sites like evassemble: http://www.evassemble.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=9&products_id=145.

Copper tubing is a great solution for a DIY battery connecting plate. Just slice the tubing vertically into a bunch of little rings then slice horizontally and flatten out the ring. I think a member here had posted up some pictures of this method a while ago but I can't remember who.

As for charging connectors anything from XLR's to Anderson's have and can be used. A quick google search will yield many options for buying various electrical connectors.

Thanks you for your reply. I will try the copper tubing for my battery connectors.

you can use normal house wire, regular solid copper wire will carry tons of current. 12 AWG solid copper cable will carry 60A without getting too hot, 40A is no problem for it. you can use the ring type terminals and solder the wire into the terminals and then connect using the screws. if you are concerned about the voltage drop, then the current you are using means the battery will be exhausted in a few minutes anyway so the wire won't be the limiting factor.
