Controller maximum rpm's are specified for 2-magnetpole motors.The maximum motor rpm a controller can handle, from a computing point of view, depends on the number of magnetpoles. Double the number of magnetpoles and the controller can handle the motor up to half the rpm. E.g a 6magnetpole motor running at 20rpm is exactly the same as a 12pole motor running at 10krpm, in both cases it 'sees' or 'feels' a 2magnetpole motor running at 60krpm.
