I've got my parts on the way for my first ebike, but for the life of me (and despite reading this entire forum) I can't seem to find a turn-key, braindead easy plug and play, easy charge 72v setup. It's for a 4011 hill climb commute. I've got the 36-72v20a pedal first controller on the way also. I'm looking for at least 8ah to get the necessary watt/hrs for this climb.

I've got about $700 left for batteries/chargers and despite my delusional thought process that I could actually build my own basic Milwaukee or a123 pack I think for this first ebike I need to go pre-packaged in the interests of safety etc.

Can anyone recommend a shrink wrapped ready to go 72v solution? I'm assuming the only practical way is 2x 36v nicads/nimhs/lithiums in series with chargers and easy to separate for charging etc? ebikes.ca doesn't have anything in stock right now that fits it seems and it seems everything else I find here and with google is $$$ lithium or 24v or less nicad-type packs.

Thanks. I'm going to hate having an ebike all built and ready to go in the next week or two and no juice to give it. :|

PS - Why is it that local Home Depots don't seem to carry Milwaukee 28v or DeWalt 36v... everything seems to be 18v or less locally. Grr... so much for using the Home Depot credit card.

Home depot is offering a " Lifetime warrantee " on their Ridgid lithium powertools !!

but you need to figure out how to make them work without modifying them..

2 x 36v 8ah nimh work well on a 20 amp controller ( and with a 4011 it's all you need unless you plan to climb volcanos. ) Ebikes.ca should have stock in june but we all know how that can turn out.. grrr..
