Removing Speed Limit on Folding Bike?

Hi, I recently purchased a 250W (rear hub, pedal assist) Chinamade folding bike. The Battery and Controller are nicely hidden in the frame.
It works great, apart from the legal speed limiter killing the motor at 25km/h. I've pulled out the controller to have a look but can't find anything too obvious? Otherwise I've ordered a throttle handle which I hope might override the limiter

It looks like the Yellow,Green,Blue, Black single wires go to the motor. While most other wires, including the red single runs up to the handlebars past the battery to the led-display.

If there is a speed limiter function of the controller, it could be hard wired inside. On many controllers that's done by taking the SL pad to ground. Or it could be the design of the controller just won't go any faster with the wheel diameter of the bike. If there's no limiter, you need to increase voltage to increase speed, which may require a new controller. Your controller has a 12A max. Increasing that with a shunt mod would would give you more power and speed going up hills and starting from a stop, but generally doesn't do much for level top speed. I wouldn't go over 50% on a shunt mod and that may be too much.

If you have an LCD display, there could be a setting in it to limit speed.

Thanks for responding. It's definitely limited in some way, it's strong all the way up to it's current top speed, then just cuts out, regardless of the incline or resistance.
The display is very basic, just two buttons and some led lights.

I'd rather not open up the controller (doesn't feel like the best quality).
But it's probably not a case of just unplugging one of the wires then?

There's no speed limit wires on it, so the limit is either by software or a jumper inside the controller. It could also be limited by the motor. You can tell that if the speed is less with a flat battery than a fully charged one. If the max speed is always the same, the limit is in the controller.
