i want to buy a uberscooter 1600w which has (4) 12V/12ah batteries =48V. can i use the same size lithium batteries in the 1600W as long as they are 12V/12ah?
Those uberscoots perform best on 16s lithuim if you swap the controller to a 48-72v 1500w sunwin and 16s of either Lipo or 18650 you will get a decent performance increase within the motors capability.
I got mine to 48mph and 4.4kw with just the controller swap and 16s 16ah of turnigy multistar lipo the motor lasted decent main issue is the t8f chain ages fast it needs alot of maintenance and even then it will snap when 4kw meets a big hill.
Aliexpress sell the dualtron hub motor from annoybike they can reach 70mph in a pair and drop straight into the uberscoot get 2 20s controllers and lipo in there and thats going to be very fast.
You can use a lithuim pack but check the controllers low voltage protection see at what voltage it knocks the ride off then match that.
If your stuck take a pic of the controller and post it.
The reason I upgraded mine was the controller was not powerful enough to accelerate up hill so the motor never got to high rpm easily and as a result got hot specially with the stock gearing, if you run it at 16s you will find the motor is no more hotter and you can ride at decent speeds even uphill if you keep the rev up and the ride time is cut in half.
Electric motors don't like going slow they can get hot fast under high load if it's struggling or worse stalling then there's little bemf and high current flows with alot of waste heat efficiency comes in as the motor climbs it's rpm range.
