I have seen bicycles with duel disk brakes on the front wheel. It seems that all bicycle disk brakes I find are designed to pull the same direction and fit on the right side of the bike. Can anyone tell me where to find a left hand disk brake caliper? Thanks.

They all fit on the left side of the bike. That's where bikes have disc mounts. You can get a trashy right side caliper from ChoppersUS.com. I don't know whether there is a non-trashy version available.

Given that you can already stand a bike on its front wheel with a single disc or rim brake, and that adding a second disc weakens the wheel by moving the spoke flanges closer together, what do you hope to accomplish that way?

If you just find it baaadaaass, then get the trashy ones from ChoppersUS. Be sure to pick up one of their trashy dual disc hubs and a trashy springer fork with dual disc tabs too.

First, you have to find forks with the caliper mounts on both sides, unless you want to weld caliper mounts onto steel forks. Greyborg-USA carries front dual-disc parts, but they don't list calipers by themselves. Their parts are high-quality and heavy-duty, but...they are also pricey. You might contact them to see if they'd sell you a right-side caliper by itself?...

If yes, please post how it turned out.

Thanks for the replies, and sorry I took so long to get back but it seems I did not quite make myself clear. I am working on a bike that - on the rear wheel - the style of the frame will not allow the disk caliper to mount on the top. So I have moved it to the bottom. Because of this the cable will need to make a large loop. I have seen it done but would rather have a cleaner look (and fear binding?) so I want a caliper that is the mirror - that is why I said they are all right side and I need a left side. Hope this makes more sense as to why I am looking for this. Thanks again for the replies.

If you are using a hydraulic caliper, you can use a small piece of rigid tubing to make a sharp U-turn for the hose. You might even be able to find a ready made fitting for the job.
