Rocky Mountain Blizzard a good ebike conversion candidate?

Hi Everyone:

I am shopping for a fat tire ebike for my winter commute here in Alberta, and as a ready to go ebike from someplace like lunacycle or biktrix is a bit expensive for my world I am looking at doing my own conversion.

I see that a local bike shop is selling 2016 Rocky Mountain Blizzards' at decent prices, and I am thinking of converting these to electric with a Bafang BBSHD. However, I have some big questions about before dropping my hard earned cash on this bike on this project mainly:

- The bottom bracket looks compatible, the salesman tells me it is a standard JIS threaded bracket, but is it compatible with the BBSHD??
-The chainstay also does a bit of a flareout, giving me some concerns as I have heard that this hits the reduction gear on the BBSHD

My question to the community here is, has anyone converted any of model of Rocky Mountain Blizzards to an ebike using the Bafang BBSXX mid drive motors here in the community and if so, how did it go?

My second option is a Surley Moonlander, has anyone converted this model of bike to an ebike using the Bafang BBSXX mid drive?

Thanks a bunch to everyone out there that takes the time to reply to this thread,

I just modified my Rocky Mountain Blizzard with the BBSHD and it worked great.
Only had to trim the front derailleur mount back a bit and chop off the front derailleur cable guide near the bottom bracket - 2min work.
Everything else went great and the battery fit perfectly to the bolts on the top tube.
