Safe to test hub motor with a battery charger?

Howdy folks, the other day doing the YouTube thing I came across a video titled " bypass a battery using charger" the guy was basically doing as stated testing his bbshd with the charger in place of a battery.

He does say that it's only fir testing purposes and not to run it for long. In theory it makes sense as the charger is more or less an AC to DC converter, my question is, is it actually safe?

Yep. Any power supply would do, as long as it is for spinning the motor unloaded.

That won’t do. I said unloaded. 50 km of wire is a serious load, in all meanings of the term.
