@MikeFairbanks: Yeah, but that bike didn't come electric. ;)

@buick: I have a Schwin Sierra from the 80s, but it isn't electric:

To help you out we'll need a lot more details about your bike. Pictures would help, including of each electric component it has on there now.

No way for me to know if these are similar to yours, but there's an old thread about an electric Schwinn Sierra:
http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=44458
but the author couldn't be bothered to ever came back to help us help him (a common problem).

Another thread talking about similar bikes

over at Visforvoltage forums.

Chances of finding factory new OEM anything for it is nealy zero. Send us a picture of what you have, and we can try to figure out what bits are missing.

If old pics exist of it on the net, you can search for them as easy as we can. It's not something so common we recognize it by name. But it's highly possible the motor and such on your bike is extremely common. It could be a currie setup for example, which parts can be found for. Just not "branded" shwinn is all.

Looks like I searched it already anyway. http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=44458

Now we need to see your bike, to see what remains of the 24v currie motor system.

picked up a schwinn sierra e- bike, has an electro 24 volt brusless motor, looks like it was a schwinn offerd bike as all the brakets were welded on b4 bike was painted,it has a picup of some kind in rear wheel, there is a mount on the pedal side frame stay that looks like a sensor of some kind bolts to it to interface with the unit on rear wheel, anyone know what this is and where to get parts for these bikes?thanks AJ

It could be a limiter for the top speed of the motor. They had something like that on the old version of R-Martins R-10 mid drive. When the bike would get to full speed the controller would cut power until the bike slowed down to a certain speed and then it would turn back on. If your bike has pedal assist it may also be a sensor for that or somebody used to have a wireless bike computer on it.

Most likely a pedelec throttle. It would detect your pedaling, and give some motor when you pedal. A crude system, many much prefer a plain handlebar throttle.

I believe it's a Currie type ebike motor system, so look at scooter parts outlets, ebay, and such for parts that can be made to work with what remains on your bike.

Here's a list of scooter parts web shops:
electricscooterparts.com
monsterscooterparts.com
tncscooters.com
thesuperkids.com
currietech.com

TNC has about the best prices from what I've seen. Currietech and thesuperkids are kind of expensive. Currietech also seems to be out of stock most of the time.

If you were to post a list of the parts you need or maybe some pictures we can help you find them.
