WELL CHASEHAS PUT A PRICE ON A REP. IT IS 147.38 US

I wouldn't cut myself off from all support/community from E:S members for $147, but some are hungrier than others. With some resolved transactions he would appear to have good intentions. Although you are justifiably frustrated, you will have a better chance at getting your $ if you give him a chance to respond to the public discussion. If he doesn't respond I expect you will get strong community support (we have members everywhere), but sometimes bad stuff happens to good people and the story doesn't make sense until you hear it.

Here's hoping for a happy resolution as bashings can get quite messy.

Put another way, Good people make bad decisions. I've never bought anything from him, but have PMed back and forth about a couple of his sale items and he seemed to be legit.

TJG, Come on dude, you need to represent yourself before the poop hits the fan. Once it does, everybody gets dirty and that tarnishes the good image a lot of people here have worked hard to create. Its a little disrespectful. If you are sick/recovering/whatever, say so and I am sure everybody will take this down a notch(people don't say too much negative stuff, because if he is really sick, you'll feel like an ass).

My 2 cents, probably only worth a rupi in this situation...

Bryan

Guys,

I've sent an email to him and await a response, hopefully this can all be resolved amicably :)

I think he has either fallen on bad times or just having a rough time getting in gear so to speak, I don't think he would have "Ripped" selected individuals off and paid others back (not a common schemer op) so let's give him say till saturday afternoon to respond to the customer or this thread before we begin assuming he's trying to pull a fast one over < 150.00.

I had a friend with a Hernia (can't spell) and man, he was out of commission for months (asides from the drugged up phone calls Id get from him).. not saying his excuse or behavior is cool, but lets tone it down for a day or two and give him a chance to reply :)

Hi Members I hope Chase will address my PROBLEM. Everything I stated concerning the purchase transaction is 100 %TRUE. I know Chase has been online , and does not seem interested in defending HIMSELF.

I do not really think I will ever get a REFUND, but it is a SAD situation, even an appology would be a start. I feel that at least the members are aware of my issues with Chase Thanks Neil

I am still due my lifepo4 cells? I sent him a currie ezip battery housing to exchange for. I did my part not one word from him since. I hope he's in good health, but I am out shipping plus $15.00 altogether around $30.00 plus one battery housing?$

This is not just late shipping or him being sick. The truth has not been told. What matters most now is for Chase to honor the obligation to the buyers. It appears there are at least 3 of us on the hook now.

For a few hundred dollars it is probably not worth the time it takes to collect the money. But here is what I recommend you do.
1. Call The Journey Guy. Does PayPal have a phone number for him? Use Google, Bing or MapQuest to look up his neighbors and call them.
2. Start a new topic [The Journey Guy's list of thefts] Best to put it in a category like E-Bike General Discussion because I think General Discussion posts delete after a certain amount of time? Each person who has money stolen should list amount, date, how paid?, what for, and all details.
3. Write The Journey Guy a letter. Yes a paper letter listing how much money owed to who? Suggest you forget about products promised and just demand a refund of money stolen. Certified Return Receipt is better. Go here for instructions http://www.usps.com/ For $50 or so a local process server guy will hand deliver a letter.
4. Wait 30 days
5. Small Claims Court. I have gotten real good at collecting money from people. Landlord tenant stuff. Not sure how to do a long distance court case? But I am sure it is possible.
6. Call the police and the court house in the The Journey Guy's neighborhood for more suggestions on how to collect money from a thief.

I think that Jail might be the best place for the The Journey Guy?

Wow this sucks. This has been a trusted community.

Sucks. but in the long haul it's inevitable to have the occasional bad apple in the bag.

the PM i sent TJG is still in my outbox and has not been read yet.. fyi...

Lets keep the tar and feathers in the bag for now shall we, i know it's a royal pissoff to have this happen ( and i've been there many times before, waiting on stuff that never shows up ) .. these things sometimes work out.

There is no denying that this is just wrong. I am not defending TJC, but these actions don't jibe with what I saw earlier, so I hope that something we don't understand has happened, and he makes right (or less wrong) later. Here is PM my exchange with him from a ways back, draw your own conclusions:

I haven't gotten this yet, do you have a tracking number for me from last week?

Hello John.

There is no tracking number, because it never got shipped. I could go into a long story about what happened, but the bottom line is that my neighbor dropped the ball, and never took the package into the UPS store for shipment. He drinks, and just so happens he's on the roll again, so that's that. I had to go over and find out what the deal was, and it took me 10 mins just to get him to talk so I could make sense of what he said and get the package back from him.

Like I said, bottom line, it's my responsibility, not his. All I can do is apologize to you John.

If you would like me to refund your money, I totally understand. If you would still like me to get it shipped to you, then I will have it at the UPS store by Monday. The Doc has released me from 'stay at home and no bike riding' on Monday, so I'm good to go once again.

Which ever you choose, it remains that I'm really sorry for the delay!

This guy is a snake! He tried to get me to buy his CA after he asked for $15.00 more for his (probably fried) Ping cells that I traded for a ezip battery case. I could have got stuck for more! Now I only got stuck for $20.00 + the box (which I didn't want anyway).

Here's his last few pms to me.

Thanks Chris. Got it, and I'll get the cells packaged up and sent out to ya.

Chicken grease and chicken skin is not supposed to be good for ya! But then again, my Grandma used to make the BEST chicken gravy, and I'm sure it had plenty of chicken grease in it.

Chris, after sleeping on it, I wanted to talk with you about something. I have read where dogman said you are trying to salvage enough cells to make a good pack for yourself, and I thought maybe since you were an honest guy in offering me the box at just the shipping charge, that maybe I can repay the favor.

If you still want these three cells I have, would you be interested in just sending me $15 for the cells and shipping fee, and we'll call it even? In other words, you send me $15 thru PP, and I send you the cells, and that's that. I keep the box, you get the cells, and Bob's your Uncle.....

Let me know what you think, yes?

Hello Chris.

I got the battery box and I'm really surprised at how you shipped it. Just dropped it into a box, left to flop around, and off it went. :?

Then when I opened the package and saw the condition of the battery box, I was even more amazed. Did you pour a pound of dirt into that thing? The top of the charge port is all chipped and broken, the back side has a huge black gouge in it from what looks like tire or rim rub that goes almost all the way into the inside of the box, and inside is just a mess from dirt, sand, and all that.

I wish you would have told me what bad condition it is in. I am PMing you personal first, to see if we can work this out. If not ,then I'll post in the thread so others can read my side of things, and if I need to, I'll provide photos of what I'm talking about. But I think you know what poor condition the box is in already, having packed it yourself.

I do not care to do a straight across trade with you for this box, not in the condition it's in.

If you want, I will return it to you, and no harm done. If you want, I'll Paypal you $15, and that's even more than what I think it's worth, comparing it to the ones I have bought in the recent past.

If you want to take this whole thing out into the forum and discuss it there, that's your call too.

So think about it, and let me know what you want. Those cells cost $14 each, $42 total, and I'm not going to trade them to you for a box that is beat to hell.

TJG
This is where the double cross came. Okay so I had a plastic Fe@#!$ box with dirt in it. F$!%#@!$ The JOURNEY DUDE!
If I get my hands on him he's gonna wish he did jail time instead. I hate jack asses like this.

I'm starting to think something went wrong with/during surgery or maybe a bad reaction to the drugs or... maybe as I said before, the person doing this isn't even the real TJG.

My transaction with TJG really wasn't bad at all and I feel about the same as oatnet... something just doesn't jibe with what I see here and how I would have described him back during our deal.
Hopefully... maybe we'll see things made right.

LOL... my neighbor's on a drinking binge...LOL

That's the funniest adaptation of the dog ate my homework that I've heard in a very long time. Thanks for sharing it Oatnet.

wineboyrider your story is very difficult to understand

did you send him a box with dirt in exchange for for 3 cells

maybe the simplest thing would be for someone to drive over to his house and knock on the door, since you know where he lives.

you guys can privately communicate with someone there who would go over and ask him to repay your moneys, and deliver the registered letter at the same time if he refuses to receive it from the postal service. you do not have to be a registered process server in most jurisdictions, but there must be an arms length relationship to the server from the plaintiff.

since he has said in comments to several people that his health is bad, and since we all have some familiarity with him and his sudden nonappearance may be due to some serious mishap at his residence. in that case you can ask the police dispatch out to knock and make a personal welfare check in case he may have committed suicide over his failing health.

the police may or may not knock for you, but he may answer the door for you once he realizes the police will be called for a welfare check.

then he can explain here on this thread or through the individual who talks with him.

Hi

Sorry to hear from folks that they have had issues with Chase? I recently exchanged quite a few PMs as he was after a circuit diagram for connecting his cellog alarm circuit, he seemed very genuine to me? however he did explain to me that he had recently had major back problems and was still suffering?

I think its much better to wait until the dust settles a little before people start flinging mud, if he has had a genuine problem he is not likely to be very responsive to the situation if he is being dissed left right and centre.

It takes 30 days for PayPal disputes from memory? not sure of the time scales involved in any of this however I think that people with disputes should take them through the proper channels in this instance and if someone knows his address there are procedures for doing this I am sure.

I hope everything gets resolved

Knoxie

I also had some communication with TJG as he was interested in making a small pack of A123 cells to fit into 1 of the battery cases he uses. He seemed like a genuine guy to me. I'd be a little surprised if there isn't some explanation for what has happened. If his attention was to scam people I'm sure there are much easier and more profitable ways than to go to the trouble of coming onto here, spend quite a considerable amount of time posting, feigning an interest etc, just so he could get away with what amounts to a couple hundred dollars of used ebike parts.

Look, his supposed surgery was almost three months ago. He shipped me the origional motor late but with an excuse. He had tried to get me to buy it like same as cash through pay-pal. I did not do that because I had not had dealings with him before. When I made another order of torque arms from him he said he would ship it in the same box with the motor. When I got the motor a month later, it did not have the torque arms in with it. He said he spaced it because of the drugs he was on. He said he would ship those right out. Weeks went by. Then he said he had gotten them back in the mail because he had put the wrong address on it. He said he would immediately ship them out to the corrected address. At that time, I also purchased from him brake/motor cutoff levers. Because I had received the motor origionally, this time I sent payment as cash. Now more than a month later, and more than two since my initial order and him swearing that he sent things off and not to be concerned (mind you cross words were not spoken between us), he has also disappeared from posting, has not answered a PM since Aug 5th, has not answered email, has not logged in under his name since Aug 11th, he has not posted in a just shy of a month, and most importantly has not made sure that I had my goods a long time ago as promised. He has strung me past the date of my being able to dispute this at pay-pal for the torque arms. And for the brake levers, cannot dispute same as cash. Chase shame on you!

I think that some members are missing ths main point. That being that Chase SOLD THE MOTOR KIT TWICE

Once to Evoforce, and also to me, We both payed him with CASH by Paypal so we can not DISPUTE it because it was not for a "goods or Service" Then he told both of us that it was shipped to us.

I can not think of a excuse for selling a item twice ,and accepting payment ,then saying he shipped it to BOTH of us, Can you ?

Since I live in Canada, It is not realistic to use the "legal system" as a avenue to get my refund Thanks Neil

 Yeah, I forgot he sold the same motor twice. That is completely sketchy. Hope lost  now I have to be cautious here.

Good thing he priced those headways at $30 each and scared off any buyers.

TJG, hope it was worth getting cut off from all support!

You picked the gem out of the chaff. I didn't want to put too fine a point on it before, but now...
