Hey all,

I'm looking for a no-frills and decently cheap 13s LiFePo4 charger. The pack is a pretty beefy, 13s12p of A123 AMP20 prismatic cells being used an the aux pack in my campervan. I'm all set BMS wise with the Orion Jr and so far I've been using a benchtop power supply to charge but now looking for something more compact and rugged to install in the van.

So far I'm looking at evdrives' cheap used Deltaq's ($250) but they don't have a 13s LiFe profile installed:<

Then there are the BMSBattery chargers that they'll program for you. but shipping and leadtime :<<<

ES Hive mind, am I missing a good option?

Thanks!

Meanwell?

That would work, especially if I could fine tune the CV. Ideally looking for something fairly enclosed/ruggedized but I suppose I could just 3dp an enclosure for a MW. Have a favorite source for them besides ebay?

228 ah 13s pack charge voltage 45.5volt ( my guess). 228 ah of 20ah cells. I don't know how many watts it could take to charge, what's the math ? I love A123 20ah cells and my meanwells.

228Ah? how does that happen if the cells are 20AH each? ;)

12p x 20Ah = 240Ah.

So if you charged at only 0.5c, for an ~3hr+ charge, it'd still take a 120A charger to do it.

A 1C charge would be 240A.

The RSP1000 I think is ~40A, so it'd give 0.17c charge rate, probably something like 7-8hours + for a full charge (since current drops a lot toward the end).

Love A123 20 amp pouches. 19.5ah for sure if A grade. Mine start fading after 17.5ah. Mine are four year old victpower saved by the Chinese from the scrapper. Full tab.
Is this a module factory made. Or new ? Where you get it ?

Factory modules.

Yeah this is a big pack so I'm ok with overnight charge outlet charge as I want to stick with normal 110v and not spend much.

It generally stays topped off via solar. Wall power is for backup/convenience.

Plug your solar straight in? Or a laptop charger or other PSU.
