Solar Panels .97/W

Yeah baby. We'll all have solar charged ebikes before too long. Are those the flexible type, because that's what I really need.

All I know is, they are laminated panels. One guy bought a 557# pallet of them, and they were delivered to inside his garage.

UMM... really?
$95.20 for an 80 watt panel
$50 for an invertor
~$100 for a 50ah 12v lead battery.
~$100 for shipping everything.

'bout $350 and you got ~15ah of 36v capacity sitting in that battery, or 12ah of 48v power.
Plug your lipo charger straight into that battery and you've got a green energy source for eBike! and add an AC invertor and you can power a laptop and/or off it too when the bike isn't being charged and you've got spare power.

If i had money to blow, i would totally do it. It is an investment.. yeah.. but a friggin' cool investment at that. And maybe the cost can go down by using old car batteries in serial.

ahhhhhhhh.......

Actually, those cheapies are high voltage apparently, run at 71v max. Looks like most charge controllers aren't setup to handle that kind of voltage.

And by inverter, i meant charge controller. whoops.
And shipping is a hell of a lot more $.. then they also have minimum order amounts on the lower sized panels too :/

So um.. more like $500-$700

That is interesting. You know so called 12v panels sometimes run 20-22 volts. I wonder if the 71 volt panel might work on a 48 volt inverter. ??

Maybe. There must be some kind of solar charge controller that can handle high voltage thin film panels.. i can't seem to find one.. and using a non-thin film seems to double the price of the solar installation.
