I saw a post on here about the outlaw and someone had said the forks were not right too long well I have just completed 6 mos of testing and riding on a set of them , I needed a double crown fork with 15mm or 20mm axle found mine on E-bay $200 for $200 I didn't expect much but they did have 20mm axle's there was a sticker under side hidden away it said not to be used for free ride or down hill lol confidence inspiring . Well after 6mo of riding some of the best MTB tails in 3 states well over 500mi every root infested soft ball size rocks every log crossing all with the weight at speed of an E-Bike there really dam good forks wonder if the rest of pedcio stuff is this good .

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with the forks; they are just way too long for the frame. It makes the bike handle badly, with weight distributed too much to the rear, and it puts the cranks way too far off the ground.

Your picture illustrates the problem. The bottom bracket is supposed to be about 1.5 inches below the wheel hubs. That bottom bracket is a few inches above the hubs. The frame's angles are also raked back a few degrees more than normal, so a normal amount of fork offset won't work right to give the intended steering qualities-- the kind of self-correction that makes bikes easy to ride.

Putting a long-travel fork on a frame designed for a short travel fork can be done, it just has negative consequences. Put on a well-damped 80mm travel fork with the appropriate spring rate, and your bike will handle a lot better. Better yet with a rigid fork, though that will make it harder to ride over dumb stuff that isn't for riding on anyway.

Chalo do you ride off road?? they are perfect for the out law they work good give that bike the rugged off rd look and are cheap enough to spec on a low end E bike . It would be a shame to replace them with a ridged fork

I guess I have Chalo to thank for finding them for sale On E bay the poor guy is riding around on some ridge forks , his lost my gain .

"not to be used for freeride or downhill" means just that. It is not strong enough to be safe speeding on the rough, taking huge drops, or landing on the front wheel after a jump.

The cheap Zoom 680 dh is not a bad fork for cross country but way too heavy and has too long a travel to be competitive for that purpose. The "dh" in its part number shouldn't be there, it is deceptive

I have the same fork, its not bad. Not as good as a bomber.

My frame is a 2001 so cal intense tracer you can still find them on E bay of all the frames I looked at this is one of the best for a Elc bike that would make a great single track bike with FS and its a blast to ride . And thank you for noticing this almost no mods to get a battery on it and the cheap zoom forks work great on it . A whole lot cheaper and simpler then any Q bike or stealth once you have a working bike its very easy to convert it to ELC and I get away with riding it on purpose built MT bike trails were that would never happen with a Q bike or stealth bike . I am now making a simple mod to the frame so the battery will fit better the battery will turn on its side and be no wider then the frame tubes making it the slimmest best placed battery of any elc bike .

I have some nice Marzocchi 29" forks that are sprung for my weight and have an extra heavy duty steer tube pressed in. I took them off my 29er because it rides and handles better with rigid forks. I also have some ancient Specialized Future Shock carbon fork legs built into one of my touring bikes. I shortened their travel to about 35mm and firmed them up so they wouldn't handicap the bike.

A bicycle that squooshes up and down when you pedal hard seems to me like a form of self-defeat. Would you use an impact-absorbing hammer, or a rubber-handled broom? If you're not pedaling, own up and ride a moto instead. There's no shame in being lazy, but don't sponge off of cyclist privileges.

Chalo I am handicap and old I need my E bike to continue to enjoy MT biking not Lazy please know the difference , the forks are great for a e bike not so for a reg MT Bike .

rider 95 ??? What's up ? intense is mad at you and em3ev is done with you ? Why not drop Justin at ebikeca a line and see how it goes ? Lets see how the worlds nices guy treats you.

LOL no no Paul at EMV3 is a good guy and honest I do how ever like to spend money with venders that offer helpful advice and have products in stock and have fast shipping its only a matter of time before I buy something him

I've ridden assembled 10 predecto s all in two days. And replaced a stator on one, but to many different stlye brand ebikes in 4 days. I thought all 3 models of those prodectos had to long of forks and to much rake. On the outlaw se, ex,ss. I wish I could down load the pic of the rake.

I am using the outlaw forks and have over 6mos of trail riding there pretty good go watch my video post EMV3 mac10t to see them in action https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M7bf8Jcn8u8

While you're looking at the bike, note that it has a bottom bracket some 15-16" high, and that most real MTBs have bottom brackets 11-12" high.

Is rider95 privy to some information that real bike designers haven't figured out-- or is he on his own, making the best of a bad situation?

Though it may be ridable to you, wrong fork for that particular frame.

I let my exp and video speak for them self I am going to drop them down a bit but all and all not bad forks I see nobody caught the fact that the fork uses a 20mm axle which was one of the reasons I used this fork. The heaver weight and faster speeds of a E bike I wanted a 20mm axle when hitting those tree roots , I am upgrading everything this winter so I might just put a set of bombers on it
