Hello,

I am Kristian and I run a e-bike workshop in Helsinki, Finland.

This year we have had many bikes that have the following combination
36v - KD21C - CE:G3M20211-1592-16 - Bafang RM-G060.250
having the following problems.

1. Automatically changing battery gauge levels

After being charged the battery gauge sometimes automatically switches from 36v range to 48v range.

This happens with some displays while others do not switch their settings. And with the bikes this happens,
it does not happen often.

First I thought that this is caused by level 5 setting being lower than chargers end voltage.

Yet, many displays are fine with 42 volts the level 5 setting being 39.4 (factory setting).

2. Random abnormality of km/ h readings

Suddenly the display can start showing abnormally high km/h. Just walking with the bike can show 60 km/h and even slight pedaling raises the speed reading to 99km/h

Powering the display off and restarting solves the problem.

**

So far I have not been able to figure out the logic behind this kind of behaviour of the KD21c

As there many bikes that have these problems, finding a way to solve the problem would be joy to many people

Please let me know if you can help. Thank you

Sounds like a firmware problem with the units from the manufacturer.

If there is a label on the controller and/or display describing it's version number, try comparing ones that work normally with ones that have the problem. Most likely you're going to find a correlation between them, where one version does have the problem, and others don't.

The best fix is to contact the manufacturer for a firmware update that fixes this.

I don't know of any fix you could do yourself.

I ll have a look at the numbers

Thank you for taking time to answer!
