Strange Noise From Bafang G360

I recently installed a Bafang G360 hub motor on my wife's Felt Cafe 7. I'm using a 48V battery and a KT 26A controller. The motor occasionally makes a grinding sound and halts until you stop pedaling, let off the throttle and start again. It's pretty intermittent and I can't pinpoint the exact circumstances that cause it. Here is a video:

I opened it up and the plastic gears are in perfect shape. The clutch also looks good. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Thanks in advance.

if it is a sensored motor, then most likely the hall sensors have a connection problem to the controller; this could be anywhere from the actual sensors inside the motor to the pcboard inside the controller. but it's usually at the connector between them.
