skateboard'14 003.jpgHere is a modification of a Chinese rip-off of BMW's street carver skateboard of long ago.
I got it for $60 delivered. Of course it died within 5 miles of use , but by then I was hooked on
the feel of these trucks. Rudi Meuller , I believe designed these in Germany. Any how,
I got some 18650 cells for a good deal and I made up a 22V 13 amp pack and put this thing back
on the road again. Some of you from the VisforVoltage forum might remember this board.
Long time ago, now.
Stats:
450W 24V brushed Unite motor
22V 13 A lithium
Syren 20 controller Dimension Engineering
Wide drive belt HTD 360-5M ( .6" )
HK controller ( modified )

:) Years ago, BMW gave me one of those to play with. It was a fun board to dissect ridiculously steep streets in Seattle. Not too good at speed though.

It is interesting that you said that. My favorite "routine" is to try to keep full throttle
and cut into and out of each driveway, then back onto the street and back to the sidewalk
without missing a single driveway . Kind of like salom. It is a challenge to be smooth and pick a proper line.
I am not a high speed rider anymore so technical is where I am at currently. Some of the "heaves" where the
old tree roots have lifted the sidewalk are kind of treacherous though...

Here is a picture of my controller. I gutted a HK 2.4 ghz car controller and made up
an armband of wet suit material. I hand carved ( with a Dremel) the 3/8" thick grey PVC
plastic to fit my hand and the trigger assembly. It fits my thumb and fore fingers so well
I do not have to hold on to it at all. Is it the ultimate answer to hand controllers?
With out trying everything else out there it is hard to tell.
It IS better than holding onto a pistol grip though.
