Surge in electric car sales

These self-driving vehicles... Can they be programmed to play Pokémon GO?

I think that's what they've been doing when they got in these wrecks.

Imagine them programmed to help. I see people that don't go after they're stopped at lights, what do they look like they're doing? Downtown, they stop suddenly in the middle of the block and sit there a moment. Sometimes they start moving slowly. Haven't you noticed anything new going on? Next thing you know the car WILL drive in search of. . . .

If they can be programmed to drive, they can be radicalized --- Quicker than humans can. And the ISILess car will strike.

From the reading I have done the Radar is for obstacles and the optical camera is to read signs and other things but not look for obstacles.

Its pretty easy for you guys who have not and done not to sit and critique someone working hard to make a difference.

Maybe rather then telling us how Elon is doing it all wrong why don't you guys get out of your moms basements and go build something that works better and actually show us how its done.

You can't say shit unless you actually build or test this stuff your self.
Yeah sure fine but he is not giving it away is he.. he asks top dollar.. This guy handed over a large chunk of money in something he obviously had too much faith in.. I am willing to bet he would still be alive if he was driving the car him self..

I have messed with motion detection software when looking at building an open source security camera called MotionPie/MotionEyeOS
https://www.pi-supply.com/make/adding-push-notifications-motioneyeos-formerly-motionpie/
https://github.com/ccrisan/motionpie

One thing from testing I concluded from this is that open source projects detecting basic movement on soft optical cameras are pretty crappy..

Ideally the Tesla self driving should be like this video and I suspect some who have put their life in Teslas hands very much assume it is like this video but clearly its not..

Volvos first all-electric car, its a bit late 2019..
Its 100KWh battery pack too, I think 100KWh will become the entry level standard eventually.
10 electric cars equals 1MWh...

These figures are based on battery-to-wheel consumption. The numbers work for sensible driving. For example, the Bolt gets 280 Wh/mile. At least one owner who, by his own admission, drives it like he stole it, is using 500 Wh/mile. He said he is happy with 133 miles of range, racing cars at every stoplight, and passing everybody on the highway.

Yes just like gasoline cars you use more energy when you have more fun.

I find driving my crx at 130km/h uses a lot of energy about 430wh/mile (272 wh/km)
And drag racing all the time and what not really uses a lot of energy. But I have not lost a race yet. ;)

This is nothing new.

I'm waiting for the batts from car wrecks.

Being a 21st-Century Urban Guy, and watching the rise of things like "car free places"... Cities like Oslo, Paris, London, Chennai... etc. And in "EV terms" still preferring to pedal (for exercise and warmth, but also to shave off peak battery outputs at startups and up hills, etc). MOST of these latest EVs still appear hard to pedal (hehe), and lighter weights still rule as far as energy consumption is concerned. So my vote for long-term survival is for battery-electric bikes and trikes. With stuff like trailers to carry stuff. And NO MORE EMPTY SEATS and "large" vehicles clogging up urban spaces UNLESS on commercial business.

So there. [grumble grumble] [hehe]

^^ Hehe... I appeal to the voters wallets.
