We all need more stickers for our motors.

Along with the labels that say "250 Watts", something we all need is a way to figure how hot our poor little motors are getting after we abuse them, without touching them and risking fried fingers. Sure, you can buy fancy gauges or use an IR sensor, but there are cheaper/better ways.

McMaster-Carr has stick on temperature gauges that can sense from 77 to 212 degrees F. A 10 pack is $15, such a deal.

These should work on hub and RC style motors.

Lottsa temp ranges available:

I want to slap some of these on Headway cells to see cell temps at a glance (window in the battery case.)

Hmmm... I have some strips I got from McMaster that go from 122 to 152ºF, originally purchased to monitor the water jackets on a 2 stroke PWC.

I might stick one on and see how well it works out. I have a BBQ thermometer coming shortly thats probably going to be much more useful, however.

I see two that I would run to cover about a temp range of 150 from about 100-248. I would put it on the magnet ring in between the spokes and I would also put one on the controller.

I may buy some I will out it in my fav. If i buy I will keep a few and sell the rest

I like that. Monitoring the magnet ring temp would be pretty close to actual inside. So close to those hot windings. Keep that ring under 200F, and you'd rarely toast a motor.
