Sub-topic of ES thread "Aerodynamics":

(In which some landlubbers express "concerns" re higher speeds and rough pavements. OTOH, on the water, my daughters when young used to enjoy jumping off waves at 2-3 times local harbour speed limits with their Dad/Skipper basically sailing "single-handed" (and local police acknowledged they weren't quite sure how to catch us/"pull us over"/wattEVer, our boat being a "high speed (at that time an Olympic-class) "Tornado" class/design of light-weight "catamaran" made of... watt some sailors referred to as "Frozen Snot" plastic foam sandwich construction w/alum mast and "boom" w/"blocks and tackle" (ropes plus "pulleys") to adjust sail in/out "on the fly". Basically, if ya hit ANYTHING boat will "self-destruct" so police weren't TOO worried.
So topic of this thread relates to using the "free energy" of the wind as a "power-assist" (under the right conditions) to extend range of available battery capacity, etc. A "stern" (back end) sail, sorta rectangular or triangular shape tall but "skinny"-ish. Think "wind surfer" on shore.
Let the "concerns" begin (re vehicles -boats - I have used for decades, including once on an empty paved parking lot).
Yes?
(PS. ON the surfaces of the water? Sometimes VERY "rough pavements".)
