I tried the Fisker Karma last summer and something i noticed is that the sound pitch dont follow the rpm of the motor  .. it's just a static pitch sound. :(

I think it would be really nice to have it tuned with the rpm! 8)

Something i might want to try for my zero Ds 2011 is to install a 5-1/4" bose midbass speaker in a tuned enclosure that will emit a sound that follow the RPM of the motor.

That will certainly also add some safety to be heard by the surrounding car drivers and pedestrian.

usually the motorcycle sound is in a spectral range that dont require a really high volume enclosure to stay efficient... maybe about 6" x 6" x 5" box max. and a 100 watt rms 12V class D car amplifier...

Why not just the big-ass ebike-dedicated sound amplifier from ebikes.ca....I'd much rather hear some awesome music than amplified car noise? Come-on people...its about art! 50 watts per channel right off your pack. Hendrix or Beethoven...its all good. Not dumb car noise. Which argues for QUIET hub motors like Crystalytes and the like...I'm just rocking it out on my trike these days. My amp is wired in so its always on when the pack is connected, and I've had it cranked for over 6500 happy miles...and the pedestrians are not startled by too much quietness.

Loud motors = bad stereo sound.
