Wohoo! New word for ES Bible/Dictionary! Lopifit - The "Electric Walking Bike"... invented in a small village in Holland.

Hmm ? An oversize Razor scooter crossed with a treadmill !
I don't get it. Without pedals, it becomes illegal ( or needs registering like any other full size electric scooter). And how far would you want to go without a seat ?
How effective is treadmill drive vs pedals ?
And why didn't they put the battery pack inside the belt/under the deck like every other stand up, for better handling ?

Dunno. Maybe ask the one US seller in Florida?

My first "ebike" experience was on a standup kick scooter (with extra kick). So no pedals OR seat. Meant slightly better visibility for the operator, and quicker/easier to step/jump on/off.

I gather it has gearing from Shimano. So "walking" speeds considerably faster than... walking. :)

Guessing rider body weight and rider holding handlebar waaay more important to any "handling" effects. And that generally speaking the lower the weight the better. At least, sure looks easier to drop in/unplug the pack vs the Currie in base batts where the deck was screwed down over the 2x 12V 10Ah SLA batts.

The motor itself from these folks apparently:

... that I don't see mentioned anywhere on ES otherwise.

I ride a bike because at my age I don't want to beat my hips, knees and ankles to death. In fact I wish I had started that policy considerably earlier.

At some point someone said this is a good idea that will sell millions of units, lets produce it. That person should not be in a position to decide anything beyond what color bumph goes in the necessary room.

See, they have *almost* the right idea...but:

It needs to have a seat on it so I can be up front to steer it (or on the rack with remote steering cable or rods to the front), and a couple of side-barriers, and then I can have my dogs power it for me.

If we put a video image of a cat running away at the front, facing toward the rear, Yogi will probably attain a few thousand watts at several dozen MPH, until he passes out, anyway.

ha, Ha, ...yes , I often wonder what it is with dogs and cats....sworn enemies ?
My dog...old , blind, deaf, lazy, arthritic , etc ..suddenly becomes SUPER dog at the slightest whif of a cat within 50 yards.?

Lots of postings recently on news sites re the Lopifit. One recent:
