Perhaps I should have waited eight months but here she blows - the ultimate Long John cargo bike.

They had an interesting product on their website:
http://www.workcycles.com/home-products/parts-accessories-books/high-tech-antitheft-bicycle-spray
(I think it's only available on April Fool's Day)

The secret ingredient to Bicycle Antitheft Spray is a specially developed electromagnetically activated, powdered memory metal. This amazing material was initially developed to stow giant reflectors and antennas inside small satellites.

Antitheft Spray is easy and fun to use: Just spray liberally over your bicycle, wait one hour to cure and then hammer, bend and kick your bike into a suitable, undesirable shape. The instruction book includes tips and examples. With the press of the activator button the bicycle will spring back to its original form and color!

Available only in red. Kit includes Antitheft Spray, instruction manual, seat-tube mounted activator switch and rechargeable battery pack. Tools not included. Works on all metal and leather parts. Does NOT work on carbon fiber!

Man, load that thing up, you'd be lucky to pedal it 5 mph. Then, we all know how much harder it is to balance a bike the slower you ride.

IMO, that thing would be a bear to ride with 4 kids aboard. That things a canoe with wheels.

That's why the kids are photo-shopped into the pic. That single pic has been around for years, and I doubt the bike even exists except maybe as an unridden promo model.

The two shorter models of that bak fiet look like useful practical cargo bikes, though they're just a bit to boxy for my tastes. The Urban Arrow is more along the lines of my bak fiets interest. Use an inline bench in the "box" as a big battery bay or extra storage when the 3-5kwh touring battery isn't loaded, and plenty of kids can be sardined in.

My sticking point is that I want it all. I want the workhorse electric bak fiets with upright pilot seating for good visibility in traffic, but I also want the cockpit to convert to as comfortable and aerodynamic as possible for long range cruising
