Thoughts on E-bikes as true light weight daily transport

I suspect they could be used as a supplement to the car. Certainly this is how I plan to use mine -
running errands on the 1/4 mile trip to the local shop - or the 5x2 mile journey to the local town
and maybe 12x2 mile to a further town. But it should mean that during the dry months May-Oct
that the car is only used for longer journeys, or for picking up goods, or available for other members of
the family. Also plan on taking it on holiday - where I dislike driving (and the roads can become
congested with queues of traffic).

As Fetcher mentioned - I really wish there was a secure lock up facility at the local train station - as this
would mean the daily commute can be done with no car.
