I'm putting some 26 X 2.5 Hookworms on a 1" rim -- Is this OK -- the rim isn't too small is it?

I don't want to find out by having them come off at 30mph!

Should work ok, but the lateral stability won't be as good as a wider rim. 35-40mph is where I found things like that become more important, so if you stick to 30mph it shouldn't matter much.

I just put these on my bike a few weeks ago. Iv'e got a standard 26" mountain bike rim, measured my rim at a tad over 1" so you should be fine. Bit tough to put on you"ll need some stiff tire levers for sure. You"ll also need bigger tubes because these tires are HUGE. I did notice the extra weight with these tires/tubes made a bit of diffrence getting up to speed- a bit slower. They seen stable at 35mph. They do soak up the road imperfections and act almost like a shock absorber at lower psi. The 2.0 inch version may have been a better "balance" but I'm not complaining- they do seem bulletproof.

I have the same tire on a 1" rim, it has held up for over a thousand miles. I should use a wider rim like I have on the back of my bike. On the 1" rim I cannot get the valve stem to come out all the way, just the stem threads come thru the hole. I am using an extra thick tube that is reinforced at the base of the valve stem. Outside measurement, where the brake pads grab is exactly 1". The tire does have a soft spot in this area, more of a slight deformation due to the tube not being able to seat correctly. Keep meaning to change that rim, probably won't until it fails,
