I put my tong sheng 36 v 350 watt motor on my RANS crank forward a couple of years ago and am approaching 3000 trouble free miles. I am a big guy 6’2” 250 . I normally ride in assist level 1 or 2. No throttle pedal assist only. I also ride non powered bikes 3 to 4 thousand miles a year , so the e bike is 25% of my riding. i did change the display from xh18 to theBO2N. The XH18 got fogged up after some severe weather.

Any problems I should keep look for ? Maintenance issues I should take care of?
It works fine and I’m wondering if I should just rideon.

Wouldn't hurt to put some grease on the gears. I opened the left side around 2000 miles last Fall and the blue gear didn't have much left on it. Not a hard job. I used harbor freight grease I bought 20 odd years ago, but bought some Mobil SHC 100 to do the right side in the Spring

you can open the motor and regrease it (also you dont need to remove the motor from your bike but its up to you) and then after you are done you could put some silicone pads on the inside of the case so the motor heat can transfer better( i cant confirm how good this works tho)
