Hi,
i just purchased a TO7 /TOSEVEN DM02, no use yet. Can folk please post good and otherwise findings here, just keep to specifics on the item, not bikes please?

Can I ask where did you buy it from? I want to buy it too. Also I was wondering what is the difference between the advertised version 250W/350W vs. 500W. Just software or different controller/MOSFETs?

Motor winding is slighly thicker in 500W hence difference in weight 3.9kg vs 3.6kg Everything else is the same including controller and software.

They are totally different motors, in as far as smaller or lager windings etc. So the nominal power rating denotes the motors physical construction and is not a simple matter of different firmware.

To state the obvious they are new so not tested over time. I've had the DM02 since September last year and done over 1000kms on it. Power wise, think the performance of a Bosch Performance Line CX or Shimano Steps e8000. It is superior to a Giant/Yamaha Core. ToSeven are continually refining their firmware so the 'motor' I ride now is leaps and bounds better than the 'motor' I bought. There is propriety flashing cables, which are now bought seperately, and firmware up dates are posted on the ToSeven website. I've had teething problems to be sure but the go-to space for info on the ToSeven motors is the High Voltage Electric Light Vehicle discord page.

I would not say totally different motors. Main difference is a winding. The same story with DM01 750W vs 1000W. Mechanically the same but with less dense winding.

So far so good ~600km with steep climbs and gear. I bought in July but did not install until recently. I know you mention not to post about bikes but I feel it is very important to design your system to not overburden this tiny motor so I mention my component choices. Have been running stock 42t chain ring but Box 9 12-50 in rear on a Jones LWB HD/E (has extra clearance with long chain stays around a 68mm bottom bracket for mid-drive gearing to butt up against with no spacers) Came with default 15 amps max in all the modes, eco, city, sport. Changed to 5 (eco), 8, 12 (sport) max current for each mode with 5 settings in each. This setup allows steep climbs w/o overating the controller with the 48V battery, this puts it right about its 500W rating max with plenty of options to sip the power for long range. There is no temp sensor for the motor. I did set the chainring size and max/ min cassette tooth counts as well as other settings apropriate to my bike on the T24 display. The stock 42t chain ring is offset 9 mm towards the BB to give a better chain line. There is also a 34t chain ring available but it is straight and will lose 9 mm off the 50 mm chain line. I am considering this with some spacers on the rear cassette and losing the 12t cassette cog which turns the 9 speed into an 8 speed. This will give even more climbing ability and keep the motor from overheating under the most stressful conditions. My goal is to use this setup as a reliable back and off roads touring e-bike. I am not sure if this motor will hold up in the long term but I am impressed so far. A little noisy when it is working hard. I am not yet using the upgraded firmware but I have the programming cables if I decide to accept their lock out of some of the settings (wish I knew what they were so I could decide) I also have a DM01 750 W version which I will put through its paces next. I like the weight of the DM02 and the 54 to 1 giving a good amount of torque for its size.
