Nice video, and very nice bike. You did a great job on your build. I followed it from the begining. I have a question about the speed limiter pin.
Today i have added a 10K pot meter in series with output signal of hall-sensor in the thumb throttle, i adjusted the pot meter until the bike peaks at 300 watts and 6 kmt, i short the pot meter with a 1mm pin trough a 1mm hole in the side cover of the thumb throttle to achieve original speed. Works great if you get stopped and they want to check legal speeds on dyno.
2. Do they stop you often in Norway and check on a Dyno that your bike truly is 250w?
The reason I asks about question #2 is in Stockholm Sweden I have had my bike riding at 1300w since 2009 and have not had any problems with the authorities (I proxy pedal my bike continuously), and I am mindful of pedestrians and other cyclist but sometimes when I have an open lane on the road and am being threatened by fast cars I go WOT until I can safely return to the bike lane. (WOT = 45km/h.)
Sure, i will take some pictures tomorrow when i find the time, i try to add and cover all the information about the build into my thread.
I have not been stopped by the cops yet, but it was on the news that they will start doing dyno tests on electric bikes in the near future since the market has started to grow, so as a precaution i have made this circuit.
Here is some pictures where i put the dead mans pin aka speed limiter.
It is only a pot meter in series with the output signal from the hall sensor, i adjusted it to peak at 300watts and 6 kmt.
The pin shorts in/out of the pot meter so that the original circuit is in order.
I am bulk charging them without bms at the moment, they all hold 3,32V.
I have a BMS laying around, and will implement it soon.
Did not do anything with the batteries.
Build nr 3 Vipera bike, same principles but with some modifications, among tighter battery-pack and charger input, the bike uses the wall that is glued for cooling the mosfets, so the controller is modified to be a part of the bikes frame structure. Works very well and doesn't get warm at all.
