I'll repeat myself again, since it's needed.
Electoral college VS public votes in 2016 looked like this:
Electoral votes: 304 for Trump, 227 for Clinton
Popular vote: 46.1% for Trump, 48.2% for Clinton
A large number of electors did not do what they promised to do. The discrepancy was gigantic.
So yes, electors just do what they want. It's not all in my head. My source of information is government records. Look them up if you don't believe me.
The crux of this seems to be that you believe that when the EC has a different vote breakdown than the popular vote, it's because the electors are voting for someone they should not be voting for. In fact it's because the way they are instructed to vote does not line up exactly with the popular vote, NOT because they are disobeying their rules. I suspect that you are confusing the stated reason for the establishment of the EC (to override a popular vote for a tyrant or someone else the founders considered inappropriate) with its actual behavior. In fact the EC has never once, to my knowledge, performed that function - they COULD HAVE in the case of Bush v Gore, but they did not, and that have not done so in at least modern history. One or two Electors have broken ranks once or twice, but never has an election been changed by them, at least in our lifetimes. I'm not going to comb through government records, and since you make the claim that the electors are Going Rogue, then it's on you to provide supporting evidence. Please do so.
