I’m looking for some guidance on custom tuning or flashing my TSDZ8. I’ve hit a wall trying to get custom settings onto my board and have temporarily reverted to stock to keep it running, but I want to figure out what I'm doing wrong or if my hardware is locked.
My Hardware & Setup Details:
- Motor: Tongsheng TSDZ8 (With the newer 2025+ controller unit)
- Display: DZ40 (Basic variant running stock protocol)
- Flashing Tool: J-Link V9 using J-Flash software
The Symptoms & Flashing Behavior:
- Whenever I flash any pre-compiled standalone OSF files (like Katana 1.35 or Spider 2.01) with a clean chip erase, it boots directly into Error 01 or Error 09 (Throttle Fault).
- Modifying configuration tables directly at the 0x1000F000 memory block results in a total display communication freeze (Error 01).
- Partial Fix / New Symptom: If I flash the Spider 2.01 base firmware and then flash my custom Java configurator HEX directly on top of it (without erasing the chip), the Error 01 and Error 09 codes completely disappear. The system boots up and communicates with the DZ40 display cleanly.
- The Problem: Even though the errors are gone, none of my custom parameters are actually being applied to the motor. In fact, the peak power feels way less than stock, as if the motor is stuck in a low-power fallback or safe mode.
My Tuning Goals (What I'm trying to achieve):
- Reduce Ramp-Up Time: I want a significantly faster ramp-up rate than the conservative factory profile allows.
- Instant Pedal Response: I need instantaneous engagement the absolute microsecond I put weight on the pedals.
- Stock Peak Power: I want to maintain the original factory peak power ceiling while sharpening the overall torque delivery curve.
Has anyone successfully modified the parameters or run an OSF branch on this newer 2025+ controller variant without the firmware defaulting to a low-power safe mode? Any specific hex baselines or web-patcher forks that correctly map the config variables for this board would be highly appreciated!
