It's all on again!

And the great news is - I have two matched Agni motors on their way direct from India! It's going to be another sleepless week of dyno-tuning, motor-smoking awesomeness! (Well, hopefully no motor smoking).

Voicecoils, SplinterOz and myself will be putting the bike back together again in Canberra next Wednesday and driving down on Thursday in time for Friday practice. PM me if you live in the area and want to catch up!

And come on down to see a (properly tuned, not over-amped reliable) electric motorbike!

Is the race on Sat or Sun?

It's a bit of a drive/ride (I have actually ridden there and back on a pedal-only bike) from Melbourne. Would def consider going to watch the race if I can get another passenger. Anyone?

Good luck with the race!

Friday is practice, there are qualifying and racing sessions on both Sat and Sun.

We'll need lots of time for practice :)

Oooo. I am tempted. I'll have to check with the "boss".

Either way. Kick arse, mate.

Is there a programme posted somewhere for when races/ practice session etc are scheduled.

Looks like I will be in Castlemaine with the family that weekend. 3 hour drive is almost doable.

If there is anything, it will be posted here:

www.efxc.com.au

Best of luck finding it deep within the clumsy website that it is though

They will update it closer to the day.

:? They've always been made in India. The old Lynch motors, the LEMCOs were made in England, but they've been made in India for a good many years now.

I'll let Jozz respond to that  Yeah, I'm sure they are saving quite a bit down there. Graphite is mined in India, so the brushes should be cheap there too. Definitely a price increase due to magnet material, but not as huge an increase as I first thought.

Lol, I don't know the specifics, but material costs make up the bulk of the motor price, copper and magnets are pricey. Brushes are made in the UK, with the best manufacturer they have found to date. Brushes aren't cheap either, having a high silver content, and silver prices are almost as scary as rare earth metal prices these days..

There we are - down the bottom! Rumour has it that the grand finale in Spain will be held on the same weekend as the last Australian round. Not that I expected to be going, but what if Daniel wanted to? Bit rude... :?

Rude indeed! :p

Anyway lads. I will be driving from Sydney (Balmain) on Friday morning and coming back on Sunday evening. So I got the media coverage sorted for this one. Got my podcasts ready 'cause its a loooonnngggg drive! :)

Will Pete James be coming again? What's the deal with having the TTxGP rep from UK?

Andy.

Found the closest thing to a race programme here:

What's up with all the lunch break time slots "Time Permitting" for the eFXC races?

Still not sure if I'll be able to make it. Likely to be either Saturday session, or possibly Friday practice if I grab a hire car, and skip work.

Judging by the response it's unlikely I'd get a passenger. CBF driving 3hrs each way by myself. So guess I'm not coming then..

Spoke to remf earlier today, he might be able to stop by Fri morn.

Hope your motor turns up tomorrow and good luck!

hi guys, still in Canberra waiting for my Agni's to arrive :x all the battery packs should be balanced by now, just need some motors. Cold as charity in this city :) according to the tracking notes it might still be in Sydney!

They sometimes only run 4 or 5 laps if the other races are running late. Or drop the qualifying session completely.

I'll try to post some more shots tonight, last session of the day coming up in a few mins.

Thanks for copying them to E-S, I can't from my phone.

Overall both bikes are running well, just not quite at the TTxGP North American race pace.

Would have been good to catch up again full-throttle. Next time!

Cheers, Abraham

Hi everyone!! Voltron has been performing fantastically, and the matched motors are doing exactly what they are supposed to do. We haven't adjusted the brush advance since we can't find a dyno or a decent load to apply to the rear wheel.

The triple charger is working fantastically! I have done every session 4-6 laps per session (coming in to check settings and temperatures etc. New tank cover looks great too. I'm doing 2:03 to 2:05 which isn't bad for a first time on the circuit. Catavolt (Jason) rounds me up in the mongral tight bumpy turns, but I blast past him out of turns. We might actually have a race :D

Will post photos if I wan't such a technical luddite :p

Massive thanks to the Voltron team crew (SplinterOz, Voicecoils) we have ourselves a racebike :D
