Making another appearance this year was the E FX class, for electric race bikes. A small field of 3 bikes fascinated onlookers with almost silent laps of the circuit. After bike troubles for Daniel Sailer early on, Chris Jones and Jason Morris battled hard for the win, Jones able to grab the victory after the long trek from his base in WA. There was much interest around these vehicles, and with continued support a competitive class could race next season.

The series next returns to Wakefield Park Raceway in NSW for round 5 in 5 weeks time, October 8th and 9th.

Why isn't TTX-GP updating their website?

Very cool congrats! Could not imagine how much faster you could be with lipo!

Why would it be faster? A123's have the smae energy density as Turnigy Lipo.

He has A123 LiPo pouches. Pretty much as good as of performance as anything out there. Nano-Tech's would give a bit less voltage sag, but that's about all RC LiPo could offer him.

I mentioned on this race thread that Catavolt would benefit greatly from Lipo as Jon bike is using headway cells. I was thinking the Catavolt bike could lose 150 pounds with Nano-Tech Lipo over headway for the same voltage and AH rating.

That's a lot of tin cans

Solidly agreed Markcycle.

At my last TTXGP, there was nobody still lingering with round cells. For that matter, there was no LiFePO4 batteries used either, top bikes all run NMC now.

Just looking about trying to find a good supplier of NMC... any recommendations?

I don't think they are publicly sold yet... We will let luke chime in to verify.

Nice work Andy, good to see you making more EV video's!

More to come too Jozz! Rumor has it that there will be a fourth bike at the final race for the season here. So stay tuned as I try to get the inside story on this new kid on the block! BTW you are a bit of a legend with the guys here. They are very grateful for your technical support. Maybe you need to come for a holiday? >:)

Andy.

Maybe? I DEFINITLY need a holiday, and I can't think of a better place to be tbh! Fat chance of me getting out of the workshop this side of Xmas though..

But...wern't you supposed to be knocking at my door about now? It must be good there if you havn't come to visit in all this time..

If the final is in Europe, your all welcome to come use my workshop as a staging area

Fantastic video Andy! Well done!

Indeeed very well put together, yo certainly have the straightline speed there CHRiS!
pity about the handling in corners being so poor in comparison to the competition, i
noticed they all have racing slicks, your still on street tires i believe CHRiS?

Yep - damn near impossible to get race tyres for a bike of this vintage.

Hey Chris,
Can you not use the tyres that you might find on a race 125? They have quite thin wheels.

I've looked into them, but they are mostly running 17" rims. I might see if I can get Tony's rear wheel (which is actually a modified 17" CBR front) to fit.
