Ugh... problems with a charger from china

I fixed all the connections to the BMS. Nice and tight.

So, I noticed the connection form the battery to the connector is loose too. I want to fix it but am nervous because the battery has some charge. Any precautions I should take when soldering up that connector? Like make sure the wires don't touch, right? Just need someone to tell me it will be alright.

Here is a picture of the sense wire plugs. I labeled which one plugs into the top of the BMS and which into the bottom. As for which one goes to the top of the battery and which to the bottom I do not know. The one labeled top enters the battery on top of the other cable. Maybe the top one is the top one inside too. I dunno. So I should touch the probes to the metal parts on the connector? But which to where? The red to the first and the black to the second? Then keep moving down the line? I'm confused on how I measure the cell voltages from the sense wires.
Thanks for the continuing support.
:D

yes exactly. each of those contacts goes directly to the top of adjacent cells so you measure the cell's voltage across it.

do not let the voltmeter probes touch each other or it can damage the sense wire and it's connections. so hold it firm on one and place it on the next, you cannot do it chopstick style. hold the plug on the table or suface and probe it just like you were are a professional. don't short the probes.

I taped down the plugs and measured the voltage with my digital voltmeter. Nothing. I tried it on a double A battery. Still nothing. Busted out the analog voltmeter and bing! 2.7 volts across everyone. Except one is 2.6 volts. Is that bad? Doesn't seem that out of balance. I bet my problem were all these bad connections. Speaking of which... what should I do when soldering the wires coming out of the battery back into their connector? Just don't cross them and don't touch them?
Thanks again.
