Hi:

A two years ago, i bougth a 2005 SLA Scooter with pulley system motor

i acomplished upgrading it, with
4.12 VESC
24V 350W Hub Motor
Antispark Ingnition System
nrf51_vesc
ADC ThumbThrottle

And i'm still with SLA batteries (2 X 12v 9Ah SLA in series) (I'm saving to buy LIPOs xD)

So i have some issues/questions that i want to resolve, there is somebody can help me?
*Using the android VESC Tool, the battery meter only shows two states: Full Charge, and Empty, there is a way to get more detailed states?
*There is a way to get regenerative brake for SLA batteries?

Thank you, for any answer 0_<

sla batteries can handle regen braking currents, as long as they're not such high amps that they would damage the batteries (this is true of all batteries).

whether the vesc and your hubmotor can do it may be different.

if the hubmotor is a geared hub, it almost certainly has a clutch in it preventing backdriving the motor from forward motion, meaning regen can't work. if you turn the scooter upside down, and use your hand to spin the motor wheel forward, and it feels relatively smooth and easy to turn, and then do the same thing to spin it backward, but it is harder to turn backward, then you have a geared motor with clutch, and regen wont' work with it.

i don't know the vesc, so can't answer those questions, but there are numerous threads about various versions of the vesc if you would like to read thru them to see if this has come up before:
