Hey guys I have a Daymak Eagle copy (TaoTao Fox) and the range I get is pathetic, 30km tops. I'm looking to improve that range and get at least 60-75 km per charge.
I was looking up lithium batteries but I have no idea which ones would fit or not so I'm here asking for some help.
Before you go to a lithium battery, you need to know the specs of your motor and controller. The main thing is to know how much of an amp draw you need and how many watt-hours you typically use to go a kilometer (or mile.) That will give you a start at picking the right chemistry for your needs.
You also need to know how to handle the different chemistry's. Some, like RC Lipo have a high energy density, but can catch on fire much more easily then LiFePO4 can. However LiFePO4 batteries have to be larger then RC Lipo batteries to make up for the lack of energy density. So do some reading on different kinds of lithium batteries, how to handle them, charge and discharge them. etc.
Lithium titanate are a new and upcoming thing if you have room to put them.
Most people still use Nickle-Manganese-Cobal 18650 type cells. LG, Sony, Samsung and the like.
Some per-manufactured batteries may already be available, but you may be better off making your own
First off my speedometer isn't working. It's the mechanical type. I've determined its the front speedo drive unit that is faulty and not the cable. Where can i get a replacement?.
It's a Daymak Eagle Deluxe copy (TaoTao Fox)
Also, I'm looking to upgrade to a battery with much more range. Right now I have a 72v 20ah 500w SGLA battery and I can't get more than 30km per charge. What are my options to upgrade+
