[USA] Will Tariffs come about and lead to higher priced ebike parts

Now I'm still buying plenty of business things I need to operate but no major investments.

Ok, i get you better.
I think the best time to get a deal is times like these. I save during the hot times so i can buy stuff cheap when everything is down. Computer equipment is definitely down in price, so i'm finally investing in a decent amount after waiting 5 years.

The vultures win in economies like these ;)

Vulture strategy wins in this scenario, lol.
Yeah I would do the same, but for what I'm looking for I don't think we are there yet. Even a mild recession though could see prices fall as people cut back, similarly China is hurting and it seems the only strategy they are willing to play is the same one they always do, keep dumping money in to keep people employed (not disgruntled with the government) and making things. They are not going to stop making things super cheap from government support until the wheels fall off and they are getting looser every day. Other markets will absorb some things we stop buying due to tariffs but they are not happy about it either. I wish China would change and start supporting their people, I don't think hurting them was worth it, let alone the harm we caused to ourselves with all of our allies. I disagree with all of it but I'm more mad about the tariffs against allies even though the China ones hurt me directly more. I even think, some directed and controlled tariffs against selected things when combined with other strategies could work but holy shit is this not that.

I wish things would change but i keep very low expectations for my government due to their long history of incompetency over the last 60+ years.

I view government like weather, sometimes it's good, sometimes it's sour grapes. I can scream at the sky but.. it's better to put that energy into adapting to the current government weather, you know.

Hope the storm blows through quick though, Covid era was bad enough, it's not nice to have a second serving of that economic interruption.
