Anyone tried this? http://www.amazon.com/SVAT-AUTOLOCK200-Steering-Security-Anti-Theft/dp/B00065ZIJ2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1379261189&sr=8-1&keywords=steering+wheel+lock

i was thinking of doing this once i finalize my ebike build. Either use the steering wheel lock to lock the ebike wheel to itself thus making it hard or impossible to drive off with the bike once they break the ulocks, though with this method they could still steal the wheel itself if they had tools to remove the wheel. OR using another method of locking the wheel and the frame which accomplishes the job of the first method and also makes the wheel harder to take off. Anyone tried this? This + conventional ulocks would be great

the lock is 2.3lbs which imo is not that heavy and seems worth it if it can deter thieves from stealing a $1k ebike. Besides you could always put it in the rear rack.

Could work.

Do you know how long the wheel lock gets when fully extended?
Wondering if it can also be used as a "click Stand"?

Oddly enough, the makers of The Club auto steering wheel lock already thought of this - the Bike Club Compact:

I have one of these - pretty slick for quick lock-ups, but I also use an Abus frame lock and separate Abus chain&lock for slightly longer parking...

Nothing defeats the London, or New York bike theft pros, that's for sure. Cordless grinders zip through even the best locks, chains, and cables in seconds. And a cop could even watch it happen, if his beat is something else.

That's why the city riders like their folders.

Get the club, and maybe then use another lock to lock that to the pole. Then, use it only if you can sit there and watch the bike.
