So I've been shopping around for a decent bike (~$2,000 USD) to get me between my local transit hub and my house up the hill. I found the bikes with the battery integrated into the frame to be rather elegant (admittedly the class of bike may be a bit overkill for my use case) and was considering a Volton Alation 500 when I stumbled onto someone selling a 2012 Stromer Sport for around the same price.
If faced with a choice between the two, what would you choose? Is the used Stromer an opportunity I should jump on? Or am I better off opting for the slightly lower component quality (but new) Volton (that still has some pretty solid reviews)?
The Stromer isn't local, so all I have to go on are pictures, but it appears to be in gently used condition with no obvious problems. I hear people love the Stromer ST1, and this being the predecessor, I'm inclined to think it's of a similar level of build quality. I don't mind buying used as long as I'm not inheriting problems.
