so im in a band and when i throw my guitar rig in my car and take it to my buddys house to practice i have to run a cord all the way into the kitchen to plug in. i was wondering if i could use 18650 to power my amp and effects pedal.? id like to take some 18650 cell holders and parrell them until i have 12 volt at 6 ah that way i could run my 12 volt dc to 120 volt ac inveter does this sound like it would work if so what kind ofrun time might i get???

If you have a pure sinewave invertor your probably going to be alright. A typical invertor will produce a rough signal though, which will likely be heard through your speakers.

why not look inside the guitar amp and see what the DC voltages needed are and see if you can do that with a battery pack built to that voltage. or it may work on a lower DC voltage than the rectified AC produces.

A car amp might be dirt cheap and adequate. It might be easier to hook the speaker to that than make a possible 30-0-30 supply from batteries. That is 60vdc, a shock voltage best avoided.
