Is the display one that came wiht the controller? If not, it may not be compatible, and so it's wiring won't allow it to turn on the cotnroller.

Normally battery power goes from the controller to the display, then the display's power button turns on an internal tiny switch to send battery voltage back to the controller to turn that on.

In order for us to help you with the ignition key / lighting /etc wiring vs controller wiring, you'll need to provide a drawing of the specific wires on each part you have, noting those already connected and working, what each one is for. If possible also the voltage it carries.

If you don't have a diagram of what the wires on your controller are for, then at least a clearer image of the wiring of the controller with them separated from each other visually so that they can be guessed at more easily.

The controller purchase page link may also help us help you figure things out, as they often have images or links to info that helps.

The "v7" is probalby just a version number. Not knowing what manufacturer and model it is means we don't know what to look up to help you, as wiring is not standardized so any wiring diagrams from other controllers may not apply to yours and could result in destroying parts by wrong wiring.

That’s just a closeup of the same mangled mess of wires. Here are instructions on posting useful information and pics.

Here’s a note in my newbie FAQ (link in my signature) on the ignition:
  • Electric Key Lock/Key Switch/Electric Door Lock/Ignition/Power Lock/Controller Power Wire : Controller on/off; usually applying battery level voltage to the signal wire turns on the controller (frequently a thin orange conductor).
Note that there are no standards for wire colors in Chinese controllers, so frequently doesn’t mean always.
