Vintage ebike display, dumb idea.

I'm working on replacing the screen on my e-bike. The main candidate is a VFD display. The first reason is that I love the way it looks, and the second is its readability under the sun.

My concern is regarding vibrations. When I tap the display, the wires in the vacuum start to make noises, and I'm not sure if it can withstand an MTB trail.
Should I reconsider this hipster idea?

we used to use them ages ago in autos, and i recall them being rated somewhere in the neighborhood of 10g/50g for half-sine shock and 10~100Hz vibe, so they should last a long time as long as you take reasonable care in shock mounting them on your MTB.

Just an update: I'm working on the project slowly.
The display works, and I’ve managed to set up an IMU sensor.
For the hardware, I made an adapter to fit a custom encoder disk between the disk brake and the wheel (for future ABS implementation).
The next step will be to sniff the communication between the TSDZ8 and the VLCD5 to see if I can get power values, as they are shown with other screens. I also need to check if they differ from the well-documented TSDZ2. This way, I should be able to fit the display on the bike before moving to VESC.

The amount of information I’ve gathered from this forum and the work done by others is invaluable. Thank you!
