Well, I have had it with the Votol EM-150 controller, this is the second one that has literally burned up. The first one, I made a boo-boo, I turned off the voltage to the controller while the motor was still spinning, but today, I just turned it off and smoke came pouring out of the controller! If the controller on my electric car was this fragile, I don't think I would have gone very far!

My question is: what would be a suitable replacement? My hub-motor is from QS-motor and it is a 3Kw 12" motor.

This is my first electric build and getting two controllers to burn up doesn't make me very happy.

The markings on the hub-motor are QSWP3000W323Y 01 It is a 3Kw motor. I looked at the Nucular series and the 12F looks more like what I would need, the only thing is, they are talking about many months delivery time! well that is from the website, I would have to contact them to get a proper quote and expected delivery time.

Almost every controller will burn if you use like that. Motor still running but low speed, okay controller will not burn BUT if high speed (over base speed), BEMF will be over 120Volt and burn mosfets
