Short story short.. paid $500 for a mxus 3kw hub in a 17" rim with matching front. He then states he has a frame with dr. bass torque arms he can throw on if I want. I wait a bit, and tell him no worries just ship the hub. He then gets pissed because he has this frame for me that I don't want(already has had my $500 for several weeks and i have been waiting).

He states that he is pissed and i have to wait to ship my hub? I then start a paypal claim out of worry. He then promptly tells me to "fvk myself, and that he won't ship my hub and CANNOT refund me because he spent my money) and I have now placed his account under hold.

Time goes by and he ships my parts I paid for 2 months before. I never get them. I own a physical business so i am best friends with my USPS guy. We track it down to nothing.

Roadrash did not even insure a $500 dollar package….and listed the weight lower than it was.

OUT $500 DOLLARS and done with this place because of this seller… I know several who have had no issues. However I have had more than enough.

If that went down as you say it did, then he sounds like a right fuckwit.

Probably didn't actually have the hub to send and was stalling.

There are usually 2 sides to these events though.

Got anything to say Roadrash ?

My dealings with roadrash have always been solid. I even fronted him the money for my builds and he always came thru.
I am sure I spend near if not over 1k with him and I have never seen anyone not like his end product.
I understand shit happens and people get into binds especially when trying to control inventory.

I dont' understand why one persons potential actions tho may make you leave this awesome board. Regardless what did transpire
it does not represent everyone here. Also paypal should protect you as long as you did not gift the money so if you have all
the facts to back up your story in the end you should be fine.

Without detailed pm's, emails, transaction history it's just a case of he said she said so hard to get perspective tho the last thing
I want is to read all those details.

All i can say is I have had no reason to think that roadrash is anything but on the up and up. he's going in a new direction for
himself the last year or so and I could see him struggling some to put it all together.

Anyway I hope it works out mutually for both you guys.

OK by me. I did two transactions with him. One EM3 triangle frame bag delivered as promised and.
I ordered a front wheel build. He delivered as he said. Got the wheel build two weeks ago.
He built me a 17 inch front wheel.
He returned all my PM's and got the wheel done when he said he would.
He even took an inventory hit while he was building my wheel.
The first rim he got from a vendor had the wrong hole angles. So he ended up having to order a different one from another vendor that worked.
The vendor that sent him the wrong angle rim never got back to him and he ended up having to take the hit.
Thanks for the wheel build and getting out that frame bag.
I will post up some pics of his wheel and start a build thread soon.

Here is a pic of the wheel.

still no motor, no refund or anything. just going to make it a write off.

did you gift him the money through paypal? did he ask you to gift it instead of using an invoice and paying for service?

did you get his real name and address or do you need that from one of us?

you have a lot of legal rights and just because he lives in another state does not mean you have lost the ability to have him arrested for theft by the local authorities. district attorneys are all excited about making headlines for online theft like this so you should proceed following the normal channels.

there has been so much theft now facilitated through this website that it should be considered too much risk to trust someone else who is a regular participant to follow through on their side of a deal.

do not gift money to people and never do business with anyone who refuses to give you their name and address.

i bot some stuff from this same guy and i specifically asked for his name and address and he was very hostile to providing his name and address to me. i should have cancelled my purchase with him immediately when he acted like that. was a red flag and i should have alerted the board about it too since he obviously has his own agenda here.

obviously he will try to disappear but the police will go to his home and serve him if you contact the local district attorney and then the court will order him to return your money.

Wow i can't even believe this BS :x

Here is my side

1kw purchased a mxus in a 17" wheel from me along with a matching front wheel. Just as i was ready to ship he wanted a fatbike frame with welded Doctor bass torque arms. So i made all that happen and waited for weeks for him to pay for the frame and he wouldn't respond.

Finally he sent me a pm saying his wife was leaving him and he need his money back and i said ok but i need a few days because i have money tied up in the frame and torque arms and i would resell the wheels and do a refund.

Couple of days later he opened a paypal case and put my paypal in the negative without warning. Yes i was pissed for being dicked around so much. However i called paypal and they said just ship what he paid for so i did and it was delivered to him. He says he never got it and i don't believe that for one second because i ship a ton of stuff and never had a problem.

Now to clear this up.

This website has been great for me and i have never had a problem with anyone on transactions. other than 1kw

Now when you asked for my name and address i thought it was strange because not one person has ever asked me for it when buying a few small items.
They just pay and i ship it.

Here is my reply i sent to you asking for the address

he has an ad on here now to sell that motor again to someone else so i thought he had paid you back if he was selling the motor again.

I have had many mxus motors here at the shop that i owned and have been reselling. Four were from the group buy and the rest right from the factory and i still have a few in stock just for ES members when they need them.

Thanks for assuming you know what is going on here.

I have done over 15k in transactions on here, mainly on wheel builds. Sometimes i get a little behind but i always follow through and im sure people will back me up on that.

One last thing dnmun. Did you receive your items i sold you?

Two big notes here.

1. Statements are substantially louder when backed with evidence. Surely you have communications you can make a video of proving the series of events. Create a timeline if you value your reputation more than someone sullying your name. "Buyer contacted me for this and this on this date. Buyer paid for goods on this date with expected shipment by this date. Buyer requests refund on this date." and so on. Plenty of they said this they said that, but there is surely some things that can be shown which will act as proof for various claims.

2. Tracking numbers with signature requirements cost a little more, but give infallible evidence of what happened. If a seller is dealing with what may be a flaky or uncertain buyer, signature requirements are a cheap and easy solution if you can't live with basically throwing away the money.

I am not trying to take sides here, but several of your statements have obvious logical flaws. Some things don't read like typical or wise business affairs.

As a paypal user with thousands of sales, if you don't send with tracking you are a fool who is begging to get screwed over by the customer.

I use usps and fedex. Whatever is cheaper depending on location and size

Now i will put a signature on all of the packages also.

roadrash, honestly didnt mean to throw you under the bus. i really wanted that hub motor :(, in the end, you think it was ups that messed up? there is not even a mail box at my work, and my postman tracked that package down to the house it went to, turns out it wasnt even a hub motor.

I made a purchase from him during the time frame of this dispute and had no issue. Although I have not had a chance to test it yet, it appears exactly as described.

100% true :!:
I payed for two rims (with paypal as a friend) and he saved them untill i had a friend that went to NYC from my country and he send it to his Hotel. I also bought two front wheels he made just before my friend travel and he also send it with the rims with no problems.

If i had to say something bad ill say that he is not that type of person that gives you info of how things are going and sometime you have to ask twice to receive an answer. But he was honest with me.

Did you mean to say usps ? If not that may have led to some of your confusion as he did ship this USPS not UPS as you stated above.

Id imagine roadrash has the receipt showing the weight since he had to pay for it and that should contradict them saying it is not a hub motor.

Also how do you know that guy is telling the truth ? He could say whatever he wanted and may if it means he gets to keep something that is not his.

This went about the way I expected as I have nothing but confidence in roadrash's reputation on the board.

-usps*
-thanks for assuming im in the wrong, obv I would have no interest in posting this purchase to the public.

Sorry to hear about your situation. I've had nothing but good experiences with ROADRASH. He built a custom 19 inch front and rear moto wheelset with a Crystalyte TC4080 for me and it turned out great. He's fair and efficient. I trust ROADRASH and wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again.

Don't give up on E-S. This is the best place to find info, ideas, parts and services for your electric vehicle project. I hope your future transactions are mutually copacetic.

Just writing to say that I've had nothing but positive experiences with RoadRash. He laced an MXUS hubmotor to 19" motowheels and even went through the trouble of ordering/mounting some Shinko tires I requested. The man had a high tolerance for my litany of questions and constant mind-changing. My wheels shipped two weeks after I sent the Paypal payment and look, ride great on my bike now. Overall, I'm very satisfied.
