It seems as if all posts are rather old on his subject. I m looking for a watt meter for the 60v nominal (75v max) 40ah pack. I would like to know if I can attach it to either side of the anderson plug (battery side then controller side). the post I have read say one end to battery and one end to controller wire. Or do I need to put it between the battery and BMS?? the links in the older posts are mostly defunct. I also need to know if it would display accurately the remaining AH or AH used while standing still so I could leave it tucked away and check it from time to time.

Any of the RC wattmeters should be fine.

You can put them between the BMS and the controller, though I don't know of any cheap ones that are programmable so you can see amp-hours remaining.

Doesn't need to be between battery and bms,, but it could I suppose.

The popular cheap blue watt meter is not supposed to go past 60v actual, not nominal.

You might be well served by going for the gold standard of watt meters, the Cycle Analyst.
