Hi all. As you may know, we just had an election here in the USA.

Apparently in the west, the old cultural rule of 'no politics or religion at the dinner table' is no longer a thing. The global environment is very heated. And we've had some outbursts here already.

Outside of here, this is breaking apart friendships, families, internet communities, and companies.
All because some people can't stand to be in the presence of someone who disagrees with something that neither person can change.

We had some nasty behavior here in 2020 from the other side and it got so bad we had to create and enforce some rules about certain behaviors related to politics to combat it.

Those rules still apply no matter what political faction or nationality you hold.
It's still not okay to antagonize people on partisan lines on this website.

I want to chisel it in stone that those of us who run ES consider this forum to be a global citizen - operated for the benefit of the entire world. Local politics is inherently at odds with that.

Please leave your personal politics at the door as much as you can. I understand you may be frustrated about things but so is everyone else!
