i got a rear geared G310 motor, couldnt fit my normal 26 inch tires on it. rims too big a diameter for any of my knobbies

it has a schwalbe delta cruiser 26x1 3/8, went online and cant find knobbies in 37-590, is this strictly a street rim?

has anyone put 27.5 inch tire on these rims? a 27.5 is called a 26" 650b

a 26 rim is 572mm

i think my rim is 590mm

a 27.5 is 596mm

That would be French 650A

the french should stick to making snow mobiles, maple syrup and poutine

looks like i have to relace to a normal 26 mtb rim

went to grins spoke calculator

i have a spare crystalyte 26 rim and with a 3 cross i need 248mm spokes for the g310

g310 with a 2 cross (the way its laced right now) in a 590mm rim its 250mm spokes

rough measure seems correct guess ill try a 3 cross with these spokes to see if it works before ordering new ones.

We didn’t make it but at least, we know where they come from.

UK had sent all of them to Hong Kong and believed they were done, but Chinese laced them on cheap motors and once in a while, find an ignorant bloke to buy one on the internet.

26 x 1-3/8" is a very common customary size. 590 is the more common of the two normal 26 x 1-3/8" sizes.

Note that fractional widths usually indicate a different rim diameter than fractional widths of the same nominal size.

Examples:
26 x decimal size = ISO 559
Schwinn 26 x 1-3/4" = ISO 571 (650C)
26 x 1-1/2" = ISO 584 (650B, 27.5")
26 x 1-3/8" = ISO 590 (650A)
Schwinn 26 x 1-3/8" = ISO 597

To answer your original question, yes, 26 x 1-3/8” is a normal bike tire size, and not a novelty size for fooling around in dirt and mud. There are plenty of tires available in that size, but they are for riding on specially prepared cycle-ready surfaces called “streets” and “roads”.

3 cross laced
