What Are The Most Powerful Linear Brakes Now Available

I did a search on brakes, and found some older information, but as we all know, things are ever evolving and being improved. So, my question to the forum is,
what are the most powerful and reliable brakes now available for our ebikes? I am doing a build using a Crystalyte Phoenix Racer 5303, which as you all know
produces a LOT of torque and power, with some resulting high speeds.

I would like to get a set of brakes that I can count on to stop me in case of an emergency. Brakes that I can rely upon, because when it comes right down to it,
my very life will depend on them. So, price being no issue, what are the very best I can get to install on my Trek 7000?

Thanks for any and all input!

If your serious about brakes you wouldnt be using linear...hydraulic disk is the
best available for bicycles.

Anything from Avid or Haynes are acceptable IMO...The Avid Juicy 3 is a great
brake i have read, doesnt have all the 'bells and whisltes' adjustments of the more expensive offerings but
the stopping power is excellent...I have looked at several models at the LBS ~1cm-2cm of lever action (using ONE finger) results in full lock up, dont think you get this with linear brakes...

While I agree with AJ that disc brakes are the way to go your bike and doesn't have the provisions for them. V brakes are the most powerful linear brakes currently available and can be really good stoppers given a good set of pads, adjustment and true rims. I have Tektro's on a pretty heavy cargo bike and they stop it really well given the former 3 items are in sync. Also it is important that your cables and housing are in top condition and kept well lubricated. Make sure that the cable housings have end caps on them also.

I agree, however I do not have the right setup for disk brakes.

If you don't have disk brake mounts, but you do have post mounts for v-brakes (standard on basic or older MTBs) then they're a great & powerful option.

Unless you have a trials bicycle background, you may not even know such a product exists:

Now these ARE brakes!! Thanks voicecoils, just what I was looking for. You are correct when you said that I did not even know such a product existed. That's the reason for this thread, is to find
what's out there, then make my choice.

These brakes will do the job very nicely. You have provided the answer to my question, and I will be getting two sets of these for the build. Can't wait to install them!

Good advice all 'round!!

Yup... forums are great for finding things out aint they! I too wasn't aware of hydraulic
rim brakes, price is also EXCEPTIONAL when you look at a set of decent middle of the road
hydraulic brakes are 150 bucks...each. Why aren't more people using these hydraulic brakes?!?!

Best of luck mate...
