What degree do you install the hall sensors

I know there is the 120 degree each sensor way but what degree is the way that all three are right next to each other. Is it just one every stator spacing? I was going to try to make an external one with them all next to each other.

Halls at 60 or 120 electrical degrees doesn't require actually placing them physically 60 or 120 degrees apart, and few motors do that. Most that I've seen inside of place them very close together, spacing depending on the number and width of the magnets, rather than stator teeth.
