What does the v mean when it comes up on my LCD on my bomber

I have a new stealth bomber and now and then the letter v comes up on my display screen and my bike won't go full speed will only hit around 70km hr. I have been told that this means that the bike is overheating though tonight I was riding home from work and it was damn cold and after 2 min it came up on my LCD screen considering I hadn't ridden the bike for 7 hrs. Why is this happening. ???
