I have been reading on electric bikes on many websites and I found this website to be more involved and very informative and I am pleased to find a website that knows ebikes especially the members. What is endless-sphere all about? What is their purpose? What is the future of ebikes in USA?

Where are most of your members from? Uk? What is your opinion on the ebike business in the USA? Is endless-sphere own by an ebike company? Or are they sponsored ? Or do they ask members to help out?

I got into electric bikes for the passion and dedication of keeping the earth green. I found ebikes to be the best of both worlds. Fun and clean form of transportation. However for some people it is to expensive to buy. This website is far superior to any other website in the ebike business. I challenge dealers to give a promo code just for endless-sphere members to support this club. With a portion going to this worthy cause To fight unjust laws and etc..

We have members from all over the world. Russia, Packistan, Australia, UK, USA, Costa Rica, and South Aftica just to name a few. I think our most active members are Australian, American, Canadian, and the UK.
The Site was started by an American as a spin off from some other project, hence the name. But he sold it to a for profit add group, and after a near rebellion of the members here, it was rescued by Justin at Ebikes.ca, who was one of the members here.
But Justin doesn't use it as a site for his store, instead he stays hands off and lets the users do their own thing.
His store is in Canada. Known localy as Grin Cyclery. He's also the inventor of the Cycle Analyst.

Welcome!
Look at the top of this page and you will see Endless-Sphere Electric Vehicle Technology Forums . Please note the "electric vehicle" phrase covers much more than electric bikes (cars, trucks, scooters, motorcycles, airplanes, boats, etc etc)
In the Forum Rules section: http://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=152 "We are all adults here, so let's keep the community focused on why everyone comes here."

In my time viewing this forum I have seen a tremendous amount of electric vehicle technology discussed.
I have seen the site sold off... saved, and currently active & vibrant.
I have seen some fascinating post from people all around the world delving into electric vehicle technology and sharing their e-thoughts and e-questions.
{ I have even seen some pretty odd characters, like some guy named Safety? and another called Reed? who had a rather wild-eyed agendas}

I must have missed where this forum was "dedicated to keeping the earth green" and where this forum was to be a "worthy cause, to fight unjust laws, etc".
Where did you get that idea?

I was going to make a forum called "Endless-Beer" with an electric vehicle section. Never took off...

I didn't even know the difference between volts, amps, and watts when I joined. This site makes you shockingly smarter

... ah, I sort of remembered it as a full fledged, we will burn the place to the ground if you monetize it... memories of those days! "Scuttling charges" in periods in post sentences, that were actually embedded image files that could be changed remotely... some uses deleting all their posts while they could ... cough, cough  wonder who that was. Vigilant mods working behind the scenes to secure the site and get a backup copy, other folks starting backup sites so we could have a home if ES imploded... oh the days! The smell of bits and bytes in the air! ^2 ... I miss those days

Although you can find chat about stock factory E-bikes here, it has been my experience that the type of folks who obey the warranty and use a factory E-bike the way it is designed often don't join a forum.

Here, the majority of the discussions are about how to fix problems that come up, by fiddling with it yourself (instead of taking it to a bicycle mechanic), or...custom experiments.

It seems the majority of the people here have purchased a kit that they installed on a non-electric bike, then they want to discuss what the options are.

What will I get when I use 36V, 48V, or 72V?

What do I need to get to do that?

Who has the cheapest components to buy?

Who has the most reliable components to buy?

In my opinion, the biggest remaining problems are around the battery packs, and that is also where the most important developments are anxiously awaited. Most people don't chat online about a microwave oven or a refrigerator they bought, but imagine a forum where a small percentage of microwave and refrigerator owners exchange information about hot-rodding their refrigerators and microwaves.

edit: if ES had truly melted down, there were several people standing by to start a brand new site, which would have been rapidly re-populated by all the guys who like showing their projects to each other. Thud, LFP, AJ, Amberwolf, Ypedal, Miles...and a couple dozen others...where-ever they go, that's the forum I want to be on.

I truly believe the Future of electric bikes in USA will succeed because. Many people want to protect the earth from pollution. And our government will play a role on Tax credits. I personally have been involved in HVAC for over 20 years and have been concern about the ozone layer. Which got me more involved and being certified with the EPA. Electric bikes will help to clean our environment. Also I have heard of Justin's work with the cycle analyst someday I would like to speak to him about putting them on my Ebikes.

We could tell more if all members would fill in thier location when yhey signed up.

It's not too late.
Just go itno yourprofile and fill it in.
That would tell us where we are all from.

Welcome to ES.

Yhey, verily.

ES is what you make of it. Everyone else notices.

Watt is the alternative spheroid universe? Tends to go `round and `round endlessly. Check yer history. The same way as the US constitution has some basis in the work of ancient Greece and Rome? EVen those darned Engrish, who EVen today call where some get together "parliament", from those darned French?

So really it's a history-based thingee. Basically trying to keep the best and throw out the worst (see blowing exhaust fossil fuels used to for energy to propel humans etc for "transportation " out into the air, watt some others still believe our animal body cells use - eg the oxygen portion - for food processing - energy and growth). Some folks here believe that might not be the right approach for long-term survival of our species. (See also "over population", but that's a separate issue thingee.)

Something like that.

EDIT: How many plants and animals might one pack into a volume equal to 1,918,448,800 cubic kilometers?

ES is whatever it is for each member, which is varied. Batteries sums it up for me. The SLA that came with my Heinzmann 500 watt kit got toasted on my first ride after my ebike build. I then went through a second bad battery experience before I encountered ES, the members here and the concept that one could choose a cell and build the battery yourself, for cost savings as well as a passion for quality and longevity. ES then became first a battery R&D site, then a context for a "build-thread". I'm on my second battery build, still with the A123 nanophosphate LiFEPO4, but changing from the prismatic cell format to the 26650 cell format, all thanks to great info posted here and the opportunity to discuss various pros & cons.

ES is where an ignoramus like me can learn just enough about EV's to seem like an expert, until you learn about EV's too. I love to teach, so I never tire of explaining the basics to new members. The info is out there, but at first read a new guy can't understand a word of it. The last place to get info, is from the guy selling stuff on ebay. He just wants to sell it. Dumb questions still welcomed here.

The big question in the Ebike sections is often which kind of motor to get. The needs of different riders varies greatly. You don't need to spend $3000 to get a bike that can go 10 miles at 15 mph. But some ready to ride bikes do cost that much. If you wish to have a flyweight motorcycle, you desperately need to know what didn't work for others. You can dump a lot of money chasing that goal with the wrong parts and having the same breakdowns others did.

Lots of good discussions happen here involving the smart people you can learn from. Good luck keeping up with them, unless you are educated in electronics. But there is gold in those discussions for sure. When Justin starts a thread, everybody listens.

Even if you are an expert, you can get stumped by a break down you haven't seen before. Then even a dummy like me can help. It's happened to us too in most cases, if we have ridden far enough. Tapping into guys who have more than 10,000 miles of ebike riding can be priceless. I only know one kind of motor well, but I have broken that type in nearly every way possible.

There are few ebike repair shops, so each rider needs to become a repairman, sooner or later. 90% of the time, it's either the battery didn't get charged, or a wire needs a jiggle. Which wire is the question of course. So ES becomes a very cumbersome version of a Chiltons car repair manual for EV's.

And then you have the battery section.

Every time you think the battery section has gone stagnant, something new comes along. But there is priceless information even in the oldest threads in the Battery Section. Building your own battery can be easy, or it can be the most frustrating thing you ever tried. Which it will be can depend a lot on how much time you spent reading the battery section. Reading the battery section can save you more money than any other part of the forum. The worst results are often when people choose batteries based only on price.

Occasionally the battery section serves as a place where we try to warn the world to never buy from a particular vendor. By that I mean when it becomes known that a certain character is actually committing fraud. We all have our opinions about legit vendors, some good some bad. But when we have an actual rip off artist loose in our community, we sound the alarm.

Watt he said ^^^. (Still no thumbs up thingee to press in this alt universe???)

Well its good to know that ES is owned by ebikes.ca
If there were a thumbs up icon I would have installed it.
