What tires fit a 32mm rim ?

It will work better on the wider rim.

Thank you Wes as I like using older comoly frames which are narrower. I read sholdon brown tire and rim with guide. But didn't find my answer. I was buying a set and trying to match things up correctly before I hit the buy button.

Are these measurements between the internal beads, where the tyre sits?

32mm internally is on the large side for a 2" tyre. 24mm is large for a normal mtb rim. Uncommonly large a few years ago, and bigger was specialist kit. While a 2" tyre is almost the standard. Standard being 1.95" from what I have seen.

I have Sun Rims Big Mammoths. As the name suggests, they are big. 32 external, 24 internal. Clothed in 2.15" tyres, the rims wouldn't want to be any bigger.

As it goes, Wes is the most extreme with wheel widths, perhaps followed by me. Though I have many peers.

Internal or external. That is the important question.

I ran my 2.4" Cyclops tires on 24mm rims and switched to 32mm rims and would never go back to anything smaller. The wider rim allowed the tire width to expand a little, but the ride was so much more stable and even installing the tire and tube was easier. The narrower the rim, the more wobble and roll off you will get from the tire. You'll note in the chart a 2.0" (50.8mm) tire is right in the middle of the 25mm rim. Personally, I'd use 32mm rims with 2.0" tires, although many bikes that use 1.95" tires come with 19mm rims. Heck, I've put 2.4" tires on 19mm rims, but not mine. All rim widths here are inside bead widths. I probably wouldn't put anything smaller than a 1.95" tire on a 32mm rim.

Yes I read the Sholdon Brown, but don't have a 32mm rim in front of me to messure. So I would like the 32mm for a 2.0 tire. But can buy it laced in a 24mm. I just see how a lot of people like the wider rim. I didn't know the limits of a 2.0 tire to a rim ( 32mm ). I'm just not that smart.

FWIW I have a Prodeco "factory" ebike. It came with 32mm rims and 2.1 tires. They mount 2.0 - 2.4 tires on the same rims, depending on model. From what I've read, skinny rims were the norm on mountain bikes in past years, but more recently they have begun to get wider.

I run my 2.00" and 2.15" tyres on 40mm and 47mm wide rims. I've even used 1.75" tyres on the 47mm rims. Or 1.10" (28mm) tyres on 27mm rims.
I'm not going back to use wide tyres on skinny rims. Ever.

Though, I'm riding a recumbent trike at up to 45mph and like riding fast around tight corners. My requirements on latheral stability of my wheels are thus a bit higher than common 2-wheelers. The 47mm wide tyres (Schwalbe Energizer) on my 47mm wide rims and 28mm tyres (Schwalbe Durano) on 27mm rims where particulary nice for fast cornering or high speed.

Iv got 3" Halo Contras on my 32mm DMR Deevee wheels and they work just fine, putting wider tyres on fits most of the time, it just changes the profile of the tyre and makes it more of a V profile. I currently have a 2.5" tyre on some standard 15 or 20 mm wide standard mountain bike wheels, and although its a squeeze getting it to stay put while you pump it up, once its got air in it the bead holds it in place, have done 100 miles on it so far and its been fine, although I am swapping it for 32mm wheels when I see some second hand on ebay.
